The Untar Faculty of Medicine implements a competency-based curriculum with the SPICES learning strategy (Student-centered, Problem-based, Integrated, Community-oriented, Early exposure, Systematic).
The learning methods applied are Problem-based learning discussions,

Team-based learning, Project-based learning, and interactive lectures. Medical graduates are lifelong learners who are able to plan disease management, skilled in performing clinical procedures, and solve health problems holistically, with the added advantage of being able to manage the health of the elderly.
